The study of Manual Lymphatic Drainage began in the 1930’s when doctors noticed that many patients in the hospitals had swollen lymph nodes.
Lymph nodes are small structures that work as filters for harmful substances. They contain immune cells that can help fight infection by attacking and destroying germs that are carried in through the lymph fluid.
This massage technique is very gentle and uses a rocking motion to encourage your body’s fluid to move toward your lymph nodes where it can be processed and eliminated naturally through the body.
This is beneficial for pre and post-operation, during recovery from an injury, general inflammation, or when your immune system needs a boost. It’s a great way to help your body feel & function at its best!
At Restorative Bodywork, we are trained to perform Manual Lymphatic Drainage. You’ll find you walk away from the session feeling relaxed and revived. To book your appointment today click below, or contact us with any questions you may have!
